I know how stupid it sounds, but how much is 50%? (I can't start that event)
Do you see the stat on the top left? When it is 60% or more, feed or water him, he will says Fuck off. Say that 4 times, the event is unlocked.
Or, try Old player -> Jump to end of the Sim
